Application Procedures
Admission decisions are based on the candidate's potential for academic success at Solebury as well as contributions to the school community. Admission to Solebury School is open to all qualified candidates without regard to race, sex, or national and ethnic origin. Students applying for admission should be aware of the following:
1) Admission Check List
To be submitted by candidate and candidate's parent directly to Solebury:- Application
- Candidate's personal statement (instructions on back of application)
- $100 Application fee (for each program: ESL Full-year, ESL Spring, ESL Summer
Program) - Preliminary Health Report
- Copy of Information Page of Passport (with name, date of birth, photo)
- Financial Statement for I-20 process (indicating evidence of means of support during the period of stay in the United States)
To be submitted by others:
- School Administrator or Guidance Counselor Report (requiring a signature on the front page indicating your release of the transcript)
- Current Transcript with courses and grades translated into English
- English Teacher Report
- Mathematics Teacher Report
- SLEP and/or TOEFL Scores Required

2) Campus Visit or Personal Telephone Interview
Prior to your telephone interview, your admission file should be complete with application, personal statements, preliminary health report, school reports, transcript translated into English, and a SLEP and/or TOEFL score. The admission office will set up a day and time for you to telephone Solebury and interview with the ESL Director. The school telephone number is 215-862-5261.Please also make sure you have reviewed the Solebury School web pages and our admission materials, and have a list of appropriate questions to ask the ESL Director during your interview.
3) Due Dates:
Full-year ESL Program and Non-ESL StudentsComplete application materials should be sent to Solebury by January 15. Applicants will be notified of our admission decision the week of March 10. After March, decisions will be made based on availability.
I-20 Information
Solebury School is authorized by the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) to issue an I-20 to appropriate students.
Once a student has completed our application process and has been accepted to Solebury School, and we have your signed contract and payment, we will then send the I-20, which is needed to obtain a F-1 visa.
We also need a financial statement that indicates whomever is sponsoring the student has sufficient funds to cover tuition and living expenses during the period of intended study, in addition to a copy of the student's information page of their passport.
